Tomorrow is my monthly recipe swap get-together at Alamo Crafts in San Antonio. Our theme this month is side-dishes and I decided to make creamed corn. I love the creamed corn at Rudy's BBQ and this is supposed to be their recipe. I don't know if it is or not, but it is really good. I was planning to use the digital Perfectly Preserved stamp brush set (129834) and the Orchard Harvest DSP (129833) but when I was looking at templates, I saw this one and thought it was pretty cool. It is from the Neutral Delightful Digital Tape collection (128874), which includes "washi tape" images and 8x8 scrapbook template.
It was really easy to change "RUSH" to "CORN" and "adrenaline" to "creamed". I made a note on the circle image and added the recipe and got a really cute recipe card. I reduced the size down to 6x6, printed a separate circle image, punched it out, and added real brads, and attached with Stampin' Dimensionals. I also matted it on some Crumb Cake card stock. (note: I just realized that the brads somehow shifted during the transformation but I like the new position, don't you?)
This is actually how I suggest people new to My Digital Studio (MDS) get started. Select a template to start with and then add, subtract, move, recolor, and replace the different elements to make it your own. You can try MDS free for a month (130910) or buy the complete product which includes over $500 worth of content, including templates for just $19.95 (download: 130646, CD: 130647).
